These Terms and Conditions set the rules for using this website and renting a vehicle from Cary Car Rentals (“we”, “us” or “our”). By using our website or booking a vehicle, you (“you” or “renter”) agree to them. Please read them carefully before you book.
01Rental agreement
By reserving a vehicle, you accept all of the conditions in these Terms. They govern every rental from Cary Car Rentals.
Eligibility
Renters must meet our minimum age requirement, which we confirm at booking, and hold a valid driver’s license. An active payment method in the renter’s name is required.
Driver requirements
A valid driver’s license must be shown at pickup. Visitors from outside the United States may need an International Driving Permit, depending on applicable regulations.
Approved drivers
Only drivers listed and approved during booking may operate the vehicle. Additional drivers may be added with approval and may be subject to extra charges.
02Reservations, payments and cancellations
Booking
Bookings must be made through our official reservation system or directly with our team. A booking is confirmed only once you receive a confirmation from us.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed. We accept major debit and credit cards and other approved payment methods. A refundable security deposit is required; the amount depends on the vehicle and rental length.
Cancellations
- Cancellations made close to the scheduled pickup time may incur a cancellation fee.
- Late cancellations may not be eligible for a refund.
- Eligible refunds are returned to the original payment method.
03Rental period and returns
Rental period
The rental period starts and ends at the times stated in your booking confirmation.
Late returns
Returning a vehicle after the agreed time may result in additional hourly or daily charges.
Early returns
Refunds are not provided for unused rental time if the vehicle is returned early.
04Vehicle use
The vehicle must be driven safely and in line with all applicable laws. The following are not permitted:
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Off-road driving or use on unapproved terrain
- Letting unapproved drivers operate the vehicle, or subleasing it
- Racing or any illegal activity
- Violating traffic or safety laws
Mileage
Any mileage limits are stated at booking. Additional charges apply if limits are exceeded.
Fuel
Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup, or refueling charges will apply.
05Insurance and responsibility
Coverage
Insurance options may be offered at booking. You are responsible for understanding the coverage you choose. Your personal auto insurance or credit card may also provide coverage; confirming that coverage is your responsibility.
Damage and loss
You are responsible for any loss, theft or damage to the vehicle during the rental period and must report any incident to us immediately. You are also responsible for damage, injury or loss resulting from misuse, negligence or a breach of these Terms.
06Vehicle return condition
Return location
Vehicles must be returned to the agreed location unless other arrangements are approved in advance.
Condition
Vehicles must be returned in the same condition as received, apart from normal wear. Excessive cleaning or damage may be charged.
Final inspection
Every returned vehicle is inspected, and any damage found may be billed to the renter.
07Privacy
Personal information is collected and used as described in our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you agree to that use.
08Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cary Car Rentals, its owners, staff and representatives against any claims, damages or legal costs arising from:
- Your use of the rented vehicle
- A breach of these Terms
- A violation of any law
- Accidents or damage during your rental period
09Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
10Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cary Car Rentals is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including loss of income or third-party claims.
11Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Continuing to use our services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
